American Express Co. has agreed to pay a $350 million civil money penalty to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), according to a recent filing. The company disclosed that the penalty is related to the OCC's consent orders, which the company stated do not impose an asset cap on American Express.

The OCC consent orders, which are the subject of the penalty, do not impact the company's full-year 2026 guidance. Additionally, American Express stated that the costs associated with the consent orders are not anticipated to affect its 2027 guidance.
