Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc. (AITX) announced on September 18, 2026, that its subsidiary, Robotic Assistance Devices, Inc. (RAD), has received an order for seven RIO 360 solar-powered security systems. The order was placed through a RAD channel partner and is intended for a major public research university serving more than 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

The university has indicated that the initial seven units represent the first of several orders, with the potential to expand the deployment significantly. Troy McCanna, Chief Security Officer and Chief Revenue Officer of RAD, stated that the order represents a meaningful commitment and provides an opportunity to demonstrate the value of RIO across the campus.

The RIO 360 system combines two ROSA units on a portable, solar-powered platform. It delivers 360-degree visibility and autonomous security capabilities without requiring permanent power infrastructure. The units are designed to be repositioned as campus activity and security priorities change. The ROSA units themselves are described as compact, self-contained, and portable security solutions that can be installed and activated in approximately 15 minutes.

According to the filing, the seven RIO 360 systems represent a total of 14 ROSA units. The company noted that higher education is a strong use case for the technology due to the large, distributed footprints of campuses, which include parking areas, pedestrian corridors, residence halls, athletic facilities, construction zones, and remote perimeter locations.

The press release accompanying the filing highlights that ROSA features AI-driven security analytics, including human, firearm, and vehicle detection, license plate recognition, responsive digital signage, and audio messaging. It also includes two-way communication optimized for cellular connectivity and live video from high-resolution cameras. RAD has published seven case studies detailing the use of ROSA in construction sites, mobile home parks, retail centers, hospital campuses, and multi-family communities.

The company noted that many enterprise customers require confidentiality regarding their identities or deployment locations, which may prevent the disclosure of specific orders. Consequently, publicly announced orders may represent only a portion of RAD's total order activity during any given period.
