Acumen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has announced it will host an Investor Day on September 16, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The event will be live-webcast, and the accompanying slide presentation will be posted on the company’s investor relations website following the conclusion of the event. The presentation is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
The presentation outlines the company’s strategy for its pipeline, which focuses on anti-amyloid beta oligomer (AβO)-directed therapies. Acumen highlighted that early Alzheimer’s disease represents a significant and growing market, with an estimated 7.2 million Americans aged 65 and older currently living with the condition. The company projects this number could grow to 13.8 million by 2060.
A key component of the presentation is the discussion of sabirnetug (ACU193), the company’s lead candidate. The company notes that unlike approved disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) such as Leqembi and Kisunla, sabirnetug is an IgG2 antibody designed to target soluble Aβ oligomers rather than insoluble plaques. The company claims this mechanism may offer potential safety benefits, including reduced risk of Amyloid Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA) and less interaction with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) plaques.
Acumen also discussed its Enhanced Brain Delivery (EBD) technology. The company stated that based on successful Phase 2 results, it plans to expedite sabirnetug development with a potential partner. Additionally, the company aims to rapidly advance an EBD candidate through clinical value inflection points, with a target to file an Investigational New Drug (IND) by mid-2027.
