ACM Research, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACMR) announced on September 30, 2026, that its operating subsidiary, ACM Research (Shanghai), Inc., has provided updated backlog figures as of September 29, 2026.
According to the data posted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange website, ACM Shanghai's total backlog amounted to RMB 17.1 billion, which the company notes is approximately USD $2.5 billion based on the September 29, 2026 closing exchange rate of the Wall Street Journal.
The backlog represents an 88.2% increase compared to the prior year's disclosed backlog. The filing explains that this total includes a mix of orders for tools that have already been shipped but have not yet been recognized as revenue under Chinese generally accepted accounting principles, as well as orders for tools expected to be shipped at a future date.
ACM Research stated that backlog is not a financial measure defined by Chinese GAAP or U.S. GAAP. The company noted that its method for determining and calculating backlog, and the underlying assumptions, may not be comparable to methodologies used by other companies, and that orders included in the backlog may not actually generate the amounts of revenue estimated.
In terms of upcoming reporting, ACM Shanghai will release its full financial results for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, on October 28, 2026, following the market close in China. ACM Research will report preliminary financial results for the same period on October 28, 2026, before the market open in the U.S. The company also plans to release its full financial results for the third quarter of 2026 and conduct a corresponding conference call in early November 2026.
